MY STORY

My parents were products of the Great Depression, and did not encourage an “impractical” education in fine art. So after earning a degree in English Literature/Journalism, working in broadcast media and then as a stay-at-home mom, I found my way to “be an artist” in midlife when I took a class at a local art center. I felt exhilarated learning to draw and paint with other students who shared the same passion. I soon attended classes at Cleveland State University and the Cleveland Institute of Art, eventually graduating with a degree in studio art. As a late starter it took perseverance to internalize that artwork is real work. It was then that I became a full time professional artist.
